Have a "trace route back to starting point" feature planned
Some people run from point A to point B and then back again, along the same path.
For these situations, it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to adequately map out the route in the current creator tool. The first set of points, from A to B, interfere with the creation of the route back from ... more

Show yearly/monthly/weekly stats for the training log planned
In the training log, only stats for the current year/month/week are shown. Should provide a section/page where stats can be viewed for a *particular* year/month/week.
This way, users will have a better idea of how they are progressing as they can compare on a week-by-week or month-by-month basis.
Should also show a graph so users can visualize the progression.

Provide embeddable widgets to show running routes planned
Widgets would allow running routes to be displayed on any website and provide a link back to RunTrackr for more details.

Allow log entries to have laps planned
Example: A outdoor running track route. When adding entries to the log, I'd rather specify X number of laps rather than a) manually multiplying out the true distance or b) adding multiple log entries for one run.

Allow training logs to be made public
User's choice, PRIVATE by default but can make public to share with others...

Allow routes to have laps/loops planned
In actual use cases it was noted that some users were creating routes with multiple laps by manually creating the loops by clicking around multiple times.
Should provide two features:
1) Close a loop: Connects the last existing point with the first.
2) Then when this is activated(? may not want ... more -

Show nearby routes when viewing a running route planned
When viewing a single route, show other running routes that are geographically close to that one so that users can more easily find what they're interested in.

it would be great if we could add points to an existing path
I often lay out a path, and then when I zoom in to make it a bit more accurate, realize there is an extra turn in the road that I missed. I need to remap the whole route if I want to add one point or turn.

Provide a password recovery mechanism planned
Need to provide a fairly secure password recovery mechanism based on user's email address.
See what ideas are being used. Examples:
1) Secret - not ideal.
2) Message sent to user's e-mail allowing them to click on a "secret" URL that will reset their password to one provided at the URL... more -

Move the FEEDBACK tab
The FEEDBACK tab on the left side of the your map blocks the arrow for moving sliding the map view to the west. Can one or the other be moved?

Searching for routes based on other criteria than location
Currently can only search for routes near a location. This is likely okay for 80% of cases.
Should also allow searching by other criteria:
- Distance
- Difficulty
- Name/Description

Allow viewing routes by user?
Allow for viewing routes by user - will have to balance this with privacy concerns.
- Also consider showing username besides route, but again, weigh privacy considerations. -

Fix Route Preview Image planned
Fix route preview display; for some routes the static image preview does not work, probably because there are too many points or the URL is malformed.
See: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/staticmaps/#PathPoints -

Allow user to quickly register when submitting 1st route
Then their first route will be automatically owned by them.
Should provide this in a convenient way that doesn't impede people who DON'T want to register. (i.e. "No Thanks")
This will prevent situations where users create their first route, then decide to register and don't own that... more

Allow users to "vote" for a route
Much like other sites, where users can "vote" or "bump" up a route they like. Popular routes will then be featured???

Provide Facebook App
Similar to embeddable widgets, idea is to allow users to share their running routes with others in a context beyond just the RunTrackr site.

Put the route starting point at address entered
1) Provided address resolution is high enough, the route starting point should be automatically created at the address entered.
